New best character ever?

Slylock Fox – July 22nd, 2013

7_22

First off, this is a cool, dynamic shot. Second off, I’m deleting all the subpages on here and replacing them with a shrine to this guard. If you had successfully stolen the exhibits, why would you go through the trouble of breaking a ceiling, tying a rope to a statue and waiting for the detectives to show? More importantly, why would you do all that and then plop the statue on top of the rope?

As the guard recites his alibi, Slylock and Max share a silent “what the hell”.

Five really cool things about this strip
    1. The artwork is really stunning! It almost looks like they’re in outer space or the moon. Has a real genuine noire-ish feel.
    2. Slylock’s “dinner-plate sized eyes” look at the hole in the ceiling is priceless.
    3. The two pigeons. One showing tepid interest at the events of the scene. The other turns his head back and is just as awe-struck as Slylock.
    4. The fact that the best security someone can come up with for these valuables is a glass biosphere.
    5. The fact that a stray gust of wind or some ambitious pigeons could plunge Max to his death. I guess that’s what sidekicks are for.

  2. Is all of this happening on a starship? Some floating museum of all that might have been saved from the Earth’s fiery demise? Because my vocabulary can’t describe how awesome that would be. And it would make Slylock Fox my favorite character ever.

As soon as Slylock takes the guard away, Max is gonna seize the moment and steal that statue. It already has a rope attached and a hole to pull it through and everything.
