Slylock teaches grave robbing

Slylock Fox – June 30th, 2013

It looks like they’ve changed the template for Sunday comics! They’ve traded in the Kid Cartoonist feature and a text-based puzzle in favor of more Slylock Fox. I’m not sure if this is a regular change or just for this one drawing, but I kinda like it. The puzzle text isn’t so crammed in anymore, and it makes it a lot more legible.

Even with the larger illustration, I still failed at the puzzle. What is it that indicates the tomb has been entered in the last 3,000 years? It’s not the perfectly non-decayed scorpion that apparently entered.

That proves nothing. For all we know, a time traveler–possibly Count Weirdly–went back to ancient Egypt and wrote those numbers while the tomb was still being built, just to mess with archaeologists. If I had a time machine, it’s what I would do.

If I had a time machine, I would leave it with some cavemen and tell them it was magic meat-and-babe machine. Watch them slam all the buttons and wreak havoc on the timestream. That would really mess with archaeologists.

Well, it won;t matter much, because mold and toxic will kill both Slylock Fox & Max. The plus side will be that they will become a new intriguing chapter in the legend of the Mummy’s Curse.
