Invasion of the Band Snatchers

Sorry, everyone! Somehow I didn’t queue today’s post for midnight like I thought I did. I’ll pay more attention next time.

Slylock Fox – March 7th, 2013

I normally don’t have much to say about the colorists, but I like the bright pink and purple in this comic. It makes the whole thing look like a big piece of fruity candy.

Hopefully it will distract children from the nightmare that is panel 2. Our leader has been replaced by an alien shapeshifter who does not quite understand “girl”. Note the lack of eyelashes, and the cobbled together shoes. The bunny, too, is an alien, vainly trying to simulate earthling hands. The dog is our remaining hope. As the aliens march him to his doom, what does he do??

Oh, he doesn’t notice. He’s just so gosh darn happy to play his drum!

That’s funny, because I would have thought the dog was up to no good. That is not the smile you get from drum-playing, that is the smile that invariably precedes some nefarious scheme.

The drum’s filled with high explosives, I bet.
