This would be worse if there weren’t so many witnesses

Slylock Fox – February 23rd, 2013

I’m torn between interpreting Slylock as spacey and puzzle-obsessed, or stoic and badass. Today’s comic? Both. On one hand, he responds to this grisly assault with a stern lecture. On the other hand, he responds to a grisly assault with a stern lecture! While strangling!

Even the Emotionless Black Mouse is running away in teeth-gritting terror. Few things are scarier than the icy calm in Slylock’s voice while he explains that murder is bad.

  1. Ratiocinator says:

The lecture could be about how the snake is doing it all wrong and that other snakes, competent snakes, constrict with their entire bodies instead of just their tails.

But this raises questions about the status of snakes in the glorious new anthro-world. This snake isn’t wearing clothes. What should we read into this? Does the snake not deserve clothes, not even a sleeve thing of some sort? Are snakes discriminated against by anthros with arms and legs? Are they constant victims of mockery for their inability to open doors and push buttons in elevators and open bottles and such?

I suggest we remaining humans ally ourselves with these downtrodden second-class citizen ophidians. Working together, we can overthrow our oppresors and take back the planet.

(Afterwards we’ll double-cross the snakes, of course.)
