The first Slylock murder mystery?

Sorry I’m so late today! Been busy with my family. I can’t believe I almost missed my all-time favorite obsession: a Sunday Slylock. Today’s is particularly crazy.

Slylock Fox – December 30th, 2012

This panel made me laugh before I even read the text. Slick Smitty isn’t even trying to look innocent; the smirk is gone, the chainsaw’s revved, and that kid’s number just came up. The guy’s about to go bonkers and this lady thought it was a good idea to call a nerdy detective with no fighting skills.

Also, either Smitty’s had a baby or grown another appendage, but Max is gonna be the first to go.

Doodles – December 30th, 2012

Not that it matters, because the Doodles cast razed the area and used the tree for their slingshot. Impressive, considering the hippo can’t even count.

You should review the “BrainBogglers” on the old Slylock website. The one at http://web.archive.org/web/20070202014359/http://www.slylockfox.com/arcade/BrainBogglers/game22.html reveals that the arm trying to grab Max in the comic here probably belongs to the Eyes That Appear In Darkness (ETAID).

I’ve thought about setting time aside for the Brain Bogglers. This only confirms that I should. I had always imagined the Eyes belonging to something more ethereal, or perhaps as the manifestation of an evil spirit. It’s kinda creeping me out to see it has a physical body.

Also, why the hell is that squirrel so happy?

      • Anon says:

Wait, NO! The eyes are in the window of the house! WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHO WHO THE ARM BELONGS TO!

        • Inkwell says:

I think Smitty has a nephew who shows up from time to time… If we want to be boring, we could say it’s him. I think it’s more likely that ETAID controls a big chain of limbs running underground, popping out at inopportune times. Because that makes sense.
