Guilty until proven innocent

Slylock basically says that the fingerprints might belong to the grocer. He never proves Smitty’s guilt. In fact, since his only case is, “yeah well, your fingerprints were on it TOO!”, doesn’t that make the grocer equally guilty?

I’m more interested in the little middle school drama unfolding between Max Mouse and Rachel Rabbit. “SLYLOCK, HE’S COPYIN’ OFFA ME!!” “I WUZ NOT WE JUST WROTE THE SAME!” “SLYLOOOCK!!” No wonder Sly’s in such a hurry to get his guilty verdict.
